Gin Lady

Schwedische Classic/Hard Rock-Gruppe im Stile der 1970er Jahre, gegründet 2011 von Joakim Karlsson (g) und Anthon Johansson (e-b), die davor  bei Black Bonzo eine ähnliche Musik gespielt hatten.

 

Als weitere Musiker zogen sie Magnus Kärnebro (vcl), Klas Holmgren (p, org, mellotron) und Fredrik Normark (dm) bei. "Gin Lady" (Transubstance, 2012) hiess das erste Album, gefolgt von der Doppel-CD "Mother's Ruin" (Transubstance, 2013) und "Call The Nation" (Bilocation, 2015).

 

Danach stieg Karlsson aus. Zu viert entstand das nächste Album "Electric Earth" (Bilocation, 2017). Dann verabschiedete sich Klas Holmgren. Für "Tall Sun Crooked Moon" (Kozmik Artifactz und Bilocation, 2019) kamen Johnny Stenberg (g, p, org, vcl) und Niklas Ålund (g) neu in die Band.

 

Letzterer blieb nicht lange, so dass auf "Camping With Bodhi" (Kozmik Artifactz, 2021) wieder nur ein Quartett am Werk war. Zum 10-Jahr-Jubiläum erschien in einer Auflage von 50 Stück die Kassette "The El Pedro Mixtape : A Gin Lady Compilation" (2021). 

 

Ein Album mit neuem Material hiess "Before The Dawn of Time" (Ripple, 2025).                                                                                    06/26
